Explore the Area

Two impressive megalithic tombs or dolmens can be found in Aughnacliffe, one of which is the third biggest of its kind in Ireland. Dolmens were erected by the earliest inhabitants of Ireland who settled here between 4000 and 3000BC and continued to inhabit the land up to 2000BC.

The lakes of the Upper Erne and Gowna are only a few minutes' drive away. In the other direction are the many lakes on the Longford-Leitrim border to explore.
