Travelling by boat
Ireland has two main destinations for ferry arrivals - Dun Laoghaire in County Dublin and Rosslare in County Wexford. Dun Laoghaire is 135km to Longford, Rosslare is 272km to Longford. Stenaline and Irish Ferries travel to Ireland.
Visitors to Longford can also travel by boat to the county via the Royal Canal which runs from Dublin to Longford. The Royal Canal Greenway also runs along the banks of the Royal Canal.
