Castlecor House

null

This magnificent residence steeped in heritage, history and mystery is in the centre of Ireland, making it a very convenient destination. It is located a stone’s throw from the Royal Canal Blue/Green way, the River Inny and Newcastle Woods.  Accommodation is on a grand scale - bedrooms with 12ft high ceilings range from deluxe superior king to romantic doubles. The single traveller, families and private parties are catered for and all rooms are en-suite.

Construction of Castlecor House spanned 300 years, the four wings adjoining the original octagonal hunting lodge align with the four cardinal compass points. The majestic interior is relaxed and welcoming with open fires. The tranquil setting in rolling pasture and private woodland has its own Norman castle ruins.  Observe the vast night sky before a quiet sleep in 500 thread count bedding. Awake to a cacophony of birdsong & refresh in a rain shower before enjoying an elegant breakfast based on local produce. Packed lunch and afternoon tea are available on request. A stay in Castlecor is an exploration of Longford and Ireland's Hidden Heartlands. Open all year.
