About this Route
This is a beautiful journey through historic North Longford. It’s a 39km hilly route, so if you are cycling, a good level of fitness is necessary. The route skirts along the border with County Cavan.
In Granard visit the impressive Motte and Bailey and The Greville Arms Hotel where Michael Collins visited often.
In Abbeylara view the ruins of the impressive Cistercian Abbey.
In Aughnacliff why not take a look at the impressive dolmen.
There are a number of playgrounds along the route should your children want to take a break.
