About this Route
This is a beautiful journey through historic North Longford. It’s a 39km hilly route, so if you are cycling, a good level of fitness is necessary.
Visit Bully’s Acre in Ballinalee, where many of those who took part in the 1798 Rebellion were executed and buried.
Ballinalee is also the birthplace of General Sean MacEoin, who fought with the British here at Clonfin during the War of Independence.
In Aughnacliff why not take a look at the impressive dolmen.
There are a number of playgrounds along the route should your children want to take a break.
