Located near to the beautiful limestone Barley Harbour on Lough Ree, is the workshop and studios of bogwood sculptor Michael Casey and his son Kevin Casey. Michael and Kevin both create works of incredible beauty from ancient pieces of wood, some over 5000 years old, taken from the bogs of the Irish midlands. Many examples of their work can be seen in the nearby village of Newtowncashel, but equally their work is displayed in some of the most prestigious homes and palaces around the world. It’s a beautiful and spiritual place to visit and always an honour to be in the presence of such artists. Take a look at their website and make sure to visit when in Longford.
